Do you not think that Walt cares about Jesse?
Oh no, I do think he does, he just cares about himself a lot more. If Walt didn’t care about Jesse, he would’ve been dead a long time ago. Like, Walt loves Jesse. I believe that. But when it comes to Walter White, his survival mode kicks in when he’s even remotely threatened and anyone going against him gets killed. (see: literally everyone that’s ever gotten in Walt’s way that is now dead).
Because Jesse has decided to come after Walt where it hurts (all that moNEY), Walt has no choice but to kill Jesse. Either that or he’ll lose everything that he (AND JESSE) has worked for. Because, lbr: Walt couldn’t have done any of this without Jesse’s know-how and help. He has a bond with Jesse that he doesn’t have with his own son. Sure, he lies to both of them, but Jesse knows the dangerous side of Walt. Walt Jr. doesn’t know it yet, though I’m sure he’ll find out in the episodes to come. (Four more—can you believe it’s almost over??)
So basically—yes, Walt does care about Jesse, he just cares about himself (and his money) more.
